Call for Programs

Calling all facilitators, presenters, campus professionals, HQ staff, and student affairs champions!

Thank you for your interest in serving as a presenter at the 2027 SGLA Annual Conference! We appreciate your willingness to share your expertise with student leaders and fraternity and sorority life professionals from across the Southeastern United States.

All educational sessions will occur on Friday, February 5 and Saturday, February 6, 2027 in Atlanta, GA. All submissions are due no later than Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 11:59 pm EST.

Theme & Focus:

The 2027 SGLA Conference will bridge NACE Career Readiness Competencies with operational leadership skills, inclusivity, and student wellness in fraternity and sorority life. We seek educational programs that move beyond inspiration by providing attendees with practical strategies, actionable tools, and tangible resources they can immediately implement on their campuses.

Session Formats:

  • Institute-Style Workshops (90 min): Deep dives with hands-on activities. (Please note, these sessions will be limited)

  • Tailored Breakouts (45 min): Targeted to a specific council or audience segment.

  • Roundtables & Panel Discussions (30 min): Peer-to-peer dialogue around best practices.

  • Graduate & Professional Development (varied lengths): Career-focused skill building for staff and graduate students.

Proposal Requirements:

All proposals must include the following to be considered:

  • Session Title

  • Session Description/Abstract: 300-word abstract describing topic, format, and flow

  • Learning Outcomes: (3–5 bullet points) Clearly state what participants will know or be able to do by the end

  • NACE Career Readiness Competency Alignment: Identify 1–3 competencies (e.g., Critical Thinking, Equity & Inclusion, Teamwork); briefly explain how your session develops each competency.

  • Action Plan: List 3–5 concrete steps attendees can implement upon returning to campus. Include any tools, templates, worksheets, models, or other resources participants will receive.

  • Target Audience & Preferred Format: Indicate the intended audience (general or council-specific) and your preferred session format and length. Preferences will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.

  • Presenter Information: Names, titles/affiliations, contact information, and 50-word biographies

Evaluation Criteria:

Proposals will be scored on the following:

  • Alignment with NACE Career Readiness Competencies & Conference Theme

  • Clarity of Learning Outcomes and Action Steps

  • Engagement and Interactivity – interactive design, group work, discussion

  • Impact and Transferability – transferability of skills and plans to campus context

  • Inclusion and Accessibility – content and presentation style that welcome diverse perspectives

Important Dates:

  • Deadline to Submit: October 18, 2026 (11:59 PM ET)

  • Conference Dates: February 4–6, 2027
