There are 6 students who serve alongside our professional board members and make the annual conference happen.

Student Board Requirements:

  • Must attend the SGLA Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA in February 2026.

  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student in good standing with your college or university.

  • Must not graduate prior to Spring 2026.

  • Must be endorsed or supported by your college or university to represent the institution on the Executive Board.

  • Must be able to participate in monthly conference calls.

  • Be prepared to attend the SGLA Summer Board Meeting in Atlanta June 20-22, 2025

 

The SGLA Student Board Application Will Ask You To Include The Following:

  • Current resume including leadership experiences, with fraternity and sorority life as well as outside fraternity and sorority life;

  • Brief statement of why you should be selected for this role. Please explain any regional/national conference experience you have attended previously, any experience on planning programs or a conference, and any ideas that you have for council-specific programs and developing an all-inclusive experience. (1,000 words);

  • Suitable photograph to be used for the website (pictures could be headshots but should only be of you) Note: SGLA reserves the right to refuse any non-suitable photographs; and

  • Letter of support from current Fraternity/Sorority Adviser (must be a campus professional who works with fraternities and sororities; no graduate students can write the letter)
